Health Fitness Corp. Gets “IT” In Shape with CenterBeam

CenterBeam to Manage IT Services for Headquarter and Remote Staff

SAN JOSE, CA - June 8, 2004

Today, CenterBeam announced it is managing the IT infrastructure for the corporate and remote staff of Health Fitness Corporation (HFC).  HFC is the leading provider of results-oriented health improvement management services to corporations, hospitals, universities and communities.

HFC, headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota, has more than 3,000 employees and manages fitness centers for 140 clients at 390 sites in North America.  The company recently acquired the business assets of the Health & Fitness Services Division of Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc., which included a contract to manage 50 Johnson & Johnson employee sites and approximately 100 other corporate locations.  HFC is also the three-time winner of the C. Everett Koop National Health Award.

“We chose CenterBeam to re-engineer and manage our base IT infrastructure including all our corporate and remote users,” said Wesley Winnekins, HFC’s chief financial officer and treasurer.  “They designed and manage our Microsoft Active Directory and monitor and manage our network services around the clock, seven days a week.  After being a CenterBeam client for four months, I’m convinced HFC is receiving superior IT services at a much better level of investment.”

HFC and CenterBeam: Shared Values

“HFC and CenterBeam share a core value of putting customer’s first and winning a high level of customer satisfaction,” said Kevin Francis, CenterBeam’s chief executive officer and president.  “CenterBeam delivers to our customers the twin benefits of a more productive IT infrastructure at a better level of investment.  We believe HFC’s customers benefit from more productive employees and lower healthcare costs.”

High Customer Satisfaction Leading to Growing Demand

More than four years ago, CenterBeam designed a quality-based IT service and support infrastructure encompassing personal computers, mobile devices, server and network hardware and software.  CenterBeam’s customer satisfaction rating for the calendar year 2003 was 95% according to Quality Research Associates.  CenterBeam’s results are attracting the attention of important opinion makers such as industry analysts Gartner and Forrestor.  Gartner has published a case study on the CenterBeam service at InfoWorld and named CenterBeam one of the “Cool Vendors” in IT management, sourcing and IT services.  A book recently published by Cisco Press, The Business Case for Virtual Business Processes included a case study of CenterBeam as an example of how companies can use IT outsourcing to reduce costs, improve efficiencies, and focus on their core business.  CenterBeam’s expertise in computer security and outsourcing has been profiled on CNBC and in The Wall Street Journal.
