ProSecure anti-malware device receives perfect marks

ProSecure, the network security branch of Netgear, announced today that it was the only anti-malware gateway to earn a "Recommended" honor from SC Magazine, out-performing similar products from 10 different vendors.
The STM600 was recognized for offering users sophisticated network management options without emptying their pockets.
"This appliance includes a number of easy-to-manage features that provide comprehensive protection against web and email threats at a reasonable price," said Peter Stephenson, SC Magazine technology editor.
Stephenson awarded the gateway five stars in each of the six evaluated categories - features, ease of use, performance, documentation, support and value for money - which elevated the device past similar appliances from companies such as McAfee and Barracuda.
In addition to filtering potential threats via email and the web, the STM 600 also offers a three-prong licensing model. Businesses who use the device only have to focus on managing the web, email and maintenance.
As companies' grow more dependent on the internet and move toward cloud technology, some may become susceptible to potential security threats. However, with the proper security measures in place, companies have been able to reduce costs and increase efficiency by adopting cloud computing services.
