With multiple varieties of cloud computing, including private, public, hybrid and other clouds, Chris Preimesberger writes on eWeek that there may be new security approaches taken by businesses.

"As cloud services gain more traction at all levels of IT - and that includes high-level enterprises down to single users at home - providers are coming up with new ways to keep everything tight," he said. "Private clouds are now interacting with public cloud services and each other - especially in large enterprises with numerous partners, affiliates and contractors in the production chain. These multiple cloud formations require a whole new perspective on security."

One of the many new security approaches involves providing multiple-level security for elastic cloud servers, he writes. As the year moves along, there will most likely be plenty of innovation in multiple-level cloud security for hybrid and hyper-hybrid clouds, which utilize different kinds of clouds.

According to a 2011 article from CSO Online, the hybrid cloud can be a great way to ensure security is an early consideration, as there are service level agreements in hybrid cloud computing to help maintain compliance and secure integration within the cloud.
