Certification test for cloud security in place
-
09/07/2010
The Cloud Security Alliance, has announced a new program devoted to the evaluation of IT professionals in terms of their ability to handle security issues associated with cloud-based technologies.
The evaluation is a web-based exam designed to determine IT professionals' abilities to handle security for private, public and hybrid cloud technology, InformationWeek Reports.
Certification is not the only security solution being offered by the CSA. The organization has recently started a Trusted Cloud Initiative offered to help cloud designers develop their own standards for interoperable identity, access and compliance management.
The CSA is a non-profit organization focused on meeting the growing need for cloud security as more companies begin to use the technology. The group was founded last year, and features corporate members such as Microsoft, Cisco Systems and Dell.
Recent information from the U.S. Department of Labor statistics explains how the use of clouds by major corporations is creating a need for qualified individuals in the work place. Security is a major need for the new technology, as cyber criminals who crack into a cloud can access a company's entire infrastrucure. Indeed, President Obama has identified issues of cyber security as a top priority for national security.
