In a recently released report, the Hostway Corporation concluded that the most important decision for a company to make when moving to cloud computing is vendor selection. Every company has different features, and carefully selecting the right vendor can make the difference between a good and bad experience.

When a company hires a SaaS vendor, it is essentially hiring a new employee. Information stored in cloud computing is vital to the well-being of the company and the success. Hostway acknowledges that the country where the information is should be known and the laws regarding information in that country understood entirely.

"Selecting a cloud computing vendor should follow the same rigorous selection process as any company would undertake in selecting IT vendors," Hostway wrote in its report.
"They may cost more since the scale economies are not as great, but for selected users they may provide the assurance that the intellectual property is safe."

Companies still outside of the cloud should not let any hype surrounding the cloud rush their decision. However, it is an option they must seriously consider. Goldman Sachs reported recently that the worldwide move into the cloud is an inevitability at this point.ADNFCR-2553-ID-19641502-ADNFCR
