The Los Angeles Dodgers recently introduced a new backup solution to improve document retrieval and business continuity.

The MLB franchise’s IT staff is responsible for providing support to 300 individuals who work in offices throughout the U.S. and Asia. To meet growing disaster recovery and document management needs, the organization recognized it needed to update its IT services.

“We are in the middle of an earthquake zone and work in a 50-year-old building,” said Ralph Esquibel, director of technology for the baseball organization. “Having a disaster recovery and business continuity solution in place is essential.”

Esquibel said using SaaS is a definite “value add” that allows the organization’s “very small IT Team” to work more efficiently and effectively.

Introducing SaaS and cloud applications has allowed numerous businesses to reduce their costs and become more efficient with their business operations. The Dodgers’ modest IT staff is similar to those at numerous small- and medium-sized businesses across the country, which have benefited from cloud computing services.

Outsourcing backup and disaster recovery solutions can reduce stress and burdens on IT professionals, allowing them to focus their energy on other pressing IT needs.ADNFCR-2553-ID-19931633-ADNFCR
