On-demand IT integration firm Boomi and cloud computing provider OpSource have announced that they have expanded their partnership to offer Boomi integration with OpSource's new cloud platform.

The OpSource Cloud is a virtual private cloud, offering some of the characteristics of the public cloud - such as scalability and on-demand access - while allowing users to have more control over security and firewalls.

Under this new partnership, Boomi AtomSphere will provide back office integration for the OpSource Cloud, providing integration with tools such as finance, billing and Salesforce CRM.

Experts say that, considering the rapid growth of the cloud computing market, integration services are the next important business offering.

"Integration is becoming an increasingly critical enabler of SaaS and cloud computing," said Jeff Kaplan, managing director of THINKStrategies. "The cloud computing arena is evolving rapidly and it makes sense for infrastructure offerings such as OpSource Cloud to anticipate and plan for customer integration needs by offering cloud integration services."

The market for integration services is expected to continue growing as more businesses adopt cloud computing technology - a recent study from IDC found that the five-year growth rate for cloud computing is six times faster than the rate for traditional IT offerings.
