Employees are what make businesses run, so it is extremely important to remember them when adopting a cloud computing solution. Dallon Christensen said on CFOworld that CFO and IT directors must understand how impotent the changes via the cloud will be to their employees, so they should look to familiarize them with it as soon as possible.
"The role of IT is changing, and businesses must recognize how this change will impact their employees," said Sadagopan Singam, HCL Technologies' global vice president of cloud computing, according to the news source. "IT is becoming more cross-functional, and companies must understand how their IT departments will impact business operations."
Christensen said he has used and implemented the cloud at many previous jobs and said IT is quickly becoming more widespread among companies. The faster businesses get their employees familiar with the new cloud computing system being implemented, the easier it will be for everyone.
Many businesses have been moving to cloud computing due to the access it would give employees, according to a survey by CSC. Forty-six percent of small businesses said information access through multiple devices was one of the main reasons they moved to the cloud.
