A recent report has signaled companies are continuing to increase hireing of IT professionals.
Overall, employer confidence is improving, said Tom Silver, senior vice president of Dice Holdings North American branch. We hear that as we speak to our customers every day.
The Dice Report, which interviewed 600 individuals across the United States who hire or recruit technology workers, found 71 percent of respondents plan to add more employees in the upcoming months than they did during the first six months of the year.
Of the 71 percent expecting new hires, more than half of them believe they will add 10 or more new IT staff members.
The high expectations for new hires goes against many reports that cloud computing technology would run IT professionals out of a job. As recent research from IDC clearly shows cloud services are growing, the fear campaigns being broadcasted appear to be unfounded.
Cloud computing has allowed numerous businesses to reduce their long-term expenses while improving overall productivity. The outsourcing of servers and services was thought to occur at the expense of IT professionals, but as the Dice Reports survey, and a recent report from CDW IT Monitor show, the future for IT workers is not nearly as grim as previously thought.
