With a larger number of smartphones and businesses starting to practice mobile device management to keep their valuable information safe, it's no surprise that many businesses are saying that 2012 could be a big year for mobile cloud computing

"A simple Google search for smartphone sales in 2012 quickly reveals booming sales expectations, not least in growing markets like India and China," according to a post on Data Knowledge Center. "One of the main reasons for the growth is the availability of affordable devices across all platforms including Windows, Android and Bada."

Although many companies still have issues with security, the news source said there will probably not be any slowing down for mobile devices in the cloud. The post said mobile operations will likely become far more important at businesses as more employees and executives start to use cloud services on their phones and tablets.

IBM said mobile cloud computing can make life easier for professionals. The company said the cloud isn't so much a new technology, but a new way to deliver services and meet the demand of today's workers.
