Vietnam's IT industry could get a big dose of cloud computing in the near future, according to Viet Nam News. Vo Tan Long, general manager of IBM Vietnam, said awareness of the cloud has been making progress in the country and could see a good rise in 2012.

“A lot of businesses and organizations have foreseen the tendency of using cloud computing, while many of them have pioneered in utilizing cloud computing solutions such as VinaCorp, the Quang Trung Software Park, Lac Viet Information Technology Company or the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment,” he said, according to VietNamNet.

Long told sources that many businesses and organizations have seen the trend and have started using cloud technology. Companies that have already deployed cloud solutions have been using the technology to help infrastructure resources, corporate administration and software testing.

Steve Chang, president of Trend Micro, said businesses and institutions aware of cloud computing like it for the fact that it can cut down on the expenses of infrastructure and help smaller or developing countries improve their technology.
