Cloud computing success depends on customer service

Cloud computing companies hoping to take advantage of the growing interest in their products are reminded that their success is almost solely dependent upon their ability to quickly answer questions from their customers and provide support, according to ChannelWeb. Intuit, manufacturer of Quickbooks and TurboTax, has used cloud computing to serve its clients for more than a decade and credits its dedication to customer service for its success. At the All About the Cloud conference in San Francisco last week, Intuit claimed that providing consistently strong customer service is among the primary reasons for their success. The strength of their products is obviously another reason for their success, but with the importance of the information they handle in mind they ensure that customers' questions will be answered and their data protected. "The game may have changed, but the rules - including focusing on the customer - have stayed the same," Tayloe Stansbury, Intuit senior vice president and chief technology officer, told the news provider. One of the best ways to ensure strong customer service is to use a customer relationship management solution to keep track of customer behavior. SaaS vendors like Salesforce.com provide detailed applications that allow companies to maintain comprehensive databases for relatively low costs.
