Skepticism relating to third-party cloud-based email storage providers has waned as a result of advancements in technology and the goal of reducing IT costs. Frost & Sullivan, a growth partnership company, reported Thursday that SaaS email storage providers earned $319.1 million in 2008 and are expected to make more than $600 million in 2015.

Maintaining email systems in-house is increasingly difficult for companies. Greater regulatory compliance demands and advanced technology have made managing these systems both expensive and time consuming. Outsourcing IT of any kind saves companies both time and money.

Frost & Sullivan expect SaaS prices to fall as more companies move into the cloud over the next five to seven years.

"In such a highly competitive market, hosted email providers can achieve cutting edge by offering exceptional service levels that focus on uptime, scalability and application bundles," Subha Rama of Frost & Sullivan said. "Email-related management services represent another unique value proposition offered by service providers."

Basic business advice states that any time spent fixing a technical problem takes time providing the services that make a company essential. Outsourcing IT to a third-party vendor enables organizations to focus their efforts of their companies primary goals. Practices like marketing, accounting and, now, email archiving are best left to the professionals.ADNFCR-2553-ID-19611208-ADNFCR
