While public clouds and SaaS have been finding their way into mainstream use in the corporate world, the use of private clouds is expected to grow as they offer opportunities for organizations to create a more efficient IT workplace.

A recent article on InfoWorld by Eric Knorr details the potential provided by private clouds. Knorr believes that companies are spotting areas that can be seamlessly virtualized, and targeting them for the technology. This allows corporations to increase the functionality and operations of specific parts of their organization, without devoting the time and resources to a cloud that covers the entire company.

The most effective use for private clouds, according to Knorr, is in partnership with other organizations. Businesses are now employing the technology to make it possible for partner organizations to share with them. Communication between partners can now be seamless, with relevant documents, applications, tools and security services shared over a private cloud.

The eventual result is the removal of some of the tedious work that IT professionals do to help companies communicate with one another and manage their individual infrastructures. Since the cloud can take care of the basic logistics, IT engineers can work more effectively on other tasks.ADNFCR-2553-ID-19936555-ADNFCR
